Conference Policies

AI Policy

SBMUN X has a strict no-AI policy. Although you may be debating the usage of artificial intelligence, delegates are forbidden for using AI for any aspect of this conference, including but not limited to: writing any part of a position paper, having AI write speeches, and having AI generate resolutions/directives. If delegates are found to be using artificial intelligence in violation of our guidelines, it is an automatic disqualification for award consideration and your advisor will be contacted.

Plagiarism Policy

It is important to cite sources used during research correctly to prevent plagiarism. Failure to correctly format and cite all sources will result in papers being subject to violating the plagiarism policy of the conference and may result in disqualification from all awards.

Health and Safety Policy

SBMUN X is committed to providing a safe and inclusionary environment for all delegates attending this conference. If at any time you feel unwell or uncomfortable, please notify a member of the secretariat or a committee chair. Anonymous reporting forms will also be available during conference.

Technology Policy

Elegant Title

For all committees, technology will be allowed during unmoderated caucuses. For crisis and specialized committees, technology may also be used during moderated caucuses, within the chairs’ digression. Please ensure to bring a functional device that can run Google Docs and an email service to committee.

Crisis Notes

Elegant Title

SBMUN X utilizes an online crisis note format, as opposed to a traditional two-notepad system. This means that crisis notes will be written on a computer during committee and sent to the committee email when finished. Crisis notes will still be expected to be written according to standard and will have appropriate responses. This email system allows for multiple crisis notes and arcs to occur concurrently. If you have any further questions on this system, please email southbaymun@gmail.com.
